Have 2 video cards to choose from and an ATA controller if needed?

    ATI Mac Edition 7000 PCI - $40
    ATI Mac Edition 9200 PCI - $80

    ACARD ATA133 6280M Boxed PCI - $50

Both mint and tested (receipt for warranty available as well I believe but would have to dig through files).

He's very sure, as am I. When you edited the hosts file, you pointed iTunes to the Cydia SHSH cache server where your 4.1 blobs are stored. There is no way to downgrade a iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, or an iPod Touch 4G without these blobs. You can downgrade an iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G and 8Gb 3G using this method. Because they use "soft" SHSH blobs which can be overridden.

Ah, okay. I must of been misinformed. I was thinking by editing the hosts file that just denied the apple server's access. I had no idea it connected to Cydia.

I had this when i got an imac a few weeks back... it's your desk. seriously!

Have a look at my previous threads and you'll find the details of the post and how i fixed it.

    edit...... => this post... http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1137139&highlight=

Picked up a new 2011 iMac today and had the same thing, isolate the imac from the desk and it will go.
I had 2x 21,5" on the same desk, at the same spot and none of them made the noise. Just this one, the 3rd 21,5"

Edit: the first 2 imacs were the low 21,5". The 3rd is the high end 21,5". The hdd is different on my 3rd imac(1TB)
I read the thread you linked and i agree that it must be something related with the hdd

How dependable will your Mac be in 10 years? I'd say it's pretty much irrelevant. Do you really think you'll be using the same computer in 10 years?

I converted to a Mac for the first time last year at this time. I researched a bunch of stuff online and watched a number of videos to see the differences between Mac's and PC's. Once I got the Mac, I got the hang of it pretty quickly.

In terms of security, I don't use any security software and I haven't noticed any problems.

For file organization, I'd say it's very easy to keep files organized.

I just removed AdSheet from my iP4 via SSH and ended this annoyance once and for all. No ill effects whatsoever. I was getting the same result when I ran Accuweather, another app that runs iAds. Not any more!!

Older 27" iMacs feature video-in, you can connect PS3 to it using something like Kanex XD (it is $150 device tho'). 2011 iMac doesn't have such port, but my guess is that you should be able to use TP as video-in. However, that's just my guess. I'd contact Kanex with this kind of question.

Oh, above, when I said, "Play fast," I meant in relation to the normal game on Dragon Go Server. Since the games are correspondence games, anything faster than one move a day can probably be considered "fast". Sorry if there was any confusion. I didn't want you to mistakenly think I meant, "Don't think about your moves and just go fast."

These are ok value for money options, try not to go with the OCz though if this article is anything to go by:

    http://blog.macsales.com/9438-not-all-ssd%E2%80%99s-are-created-equal-the-story-continues

OWC, Micron\Crucial and Intel are the best brands and use the most quality components. With OWC being better than the Micron\Crucial which uses a slower Marvell Controller.

Thank you, another VERY IMPORTANT variable for me is to be able to upgrade the Firmware of the SSD over time, do you know if OWC provides that option ?, also do you know is the OWC SSDs have the TRIM option ?

4.3.1 didn't bring much but 4.3 brought improvements on AirPlay, safar, added home sharing options, iPad sloder switch option, and added the hotspot feature.

    http://www.apple.com/ios/

Well, it didn't add the hot spot feature for the iPad. But yeah, I'm gonna hold off, nothing really of interest.

I would use Python as there is a Cocoa bridge for Python. Though untimately you will need an understanding of Obj-C and Cocoa to make decent Mac OSX apps. Even if you are coding in Python.

I just don't see how Gingrich can possibly be a viable candidate. Even with the brainpower of the greatest marketers and spinsters out there...The attack ads practically write themselves:

Sarcastic Political Announcer Voiceover: Newt Gingrich left his wife when she was diagnosed with cancer. When the going got tough, he ran away. What do you think he'll do when the going gets tough for the American People? Is that a risk we can take?

Let's not forget he was cheating on his dying wife while he was drumming up impeachment for Bill Clinton. Oh...and let's not forget how the government shutdown went for him.

Am I missing something here? I just don't see how he can acknowledge or deny his past without having that damage his character even further.

I put on order for the i7 and the 2Gig Video Card, would this machine handle somewhat serious gaming within 2 years time frame,

The 6970 card is 2 years old, since it can handle current games fairly decently, it will definitely not in 4 years (it would make it a 4 year old card).

I've never really owned a great point and shoot camera for the simple reason that I know I'd never really carry it around with me to use it. I have used a lot of cell phone cameras though, and I will say the ip4 camera is the best that I've used. I have no issues with the photos that I take looking messed up, but that could be because I have no awesome camera to compare it against. I would think that for 90% of the picture taking that most would do, it would be just fine. Even if not, it's worth the tradeoff of not Having to Carry around a Point and shoot camera wherever you go. I will say the camera is a big selling point for me and cell phones though. It's one of the main reasons I haven't went to android yet. The iPhone cameras seem to work ally better. Here are some photos I've snapped with a range of lighting conditions.

I've sold and bought a lot of stuff on Ebay including selling multiple Mac laptops. This situation besides being traumatic to the seller (or buyer depending on the situation) is very interesting as to how ebay will address it?

This was several years ago, but I have a friend who purchased a computer on ebay advertised with a specific graphic card. In reality the computer did not have the card that was advertised, but for some reason in the dispute, ebay sided with the seller saying the differences were not enough to warrant a return despite the card having 124MB VRAM instead of the advertised 256MB VRAM.

Despite my story above, what has bothered me about Ebay is that it has taken steps to be friendlier to buyers at the expense of sellers. For example, instead of allowing the seller to dictate the buyer pays for insurance as a term of the sale, Ebay has taken this away this choice from the seller.

If you have a piece of computer hardware, and you know what the serial number is, and you mail it off, what exactly prevents the buyer from switching computers and saying "you did not send me what you advertised" and asks for a refund? For this situation Ebay will have to develop a verifiable process because someone is being scammed.

The reverse is the seller lies about the computer and sends something other than what was advertised.

I want to know how the heck Ebay can determine who is telling the truth?

The worst thing about being the seller is that once your computer is in the buyer's hands, you no longer have any control over your computer. For the OP, at this point, I don't think there is anything you can do but contact ebay and discuss it with them. Someone else has your computer. Hopefully you documented what you sent. If so then the buyer is a crook. Hopefully you took several pictures to distinguish between what you sent and what the buyer says he got.

But does everyone see the dilemma? How does any 3rd party know what you really sent the buyer? This is going to make me do some research because I will be selling a laptop in the near future on ebay, that is if I can satisfy there is a means to verify what exactly has been mailed?

    Helpfull links anyone?
